Trina Spear is the CEO and Co-Founder of FIGS, the digitally native, DTC healthcare apparel and lifestyle brand creating technically advanced products for the modern healthcare professional.
FIGS has revolutionized the large and fragmented healthcare apparel industry by branding a previously unbranded industry and de-commoditizing a previously commoditized product. Under Trina’s leadership, FIGS has created premium products for healthcare professionals, introduced a convenient and seamless DTC online platform, and built a community around a profession. FIGS went public in May 2021 at a valuation of over $5 billion, as the first company ever to be taken public by two female co-founders and co-CEO’s.
FIGS’ accolades include being named in Fast Company’s World’s Most Innovative Companies (2022), Ad Age’s America’s Hottest Brands (2021), Fast Company’s Best Workplaces for Innovators (2021), and Inc.’s Best-Led Companies (2021). Additionally, Trina has been named in Fortune’s 40 Under 40 (2021), Goldman Sachs’ 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs (2018 & 2019), Endeavor Entrepreneur (Endeavor, 2015), and Entrepreneur of the Year (Ernst & Young, Los Angeles Region, 2018). Her article, “Transforming the Healthcare Experience: Doctors, Nurses, Patients, and Beyond,” was published in the Journal of the American College of Radiology in 2017.
Prior to launching FIGS, Trina was an associate with the Blackstone Group – a leading global alternative investment business – in the firm’s hedge fund group. She also worked within Citigroup's investment banking and private equity divisions. Trina is a member of the 2018 Class of Henry Crown Fellows at the Aspen Institute. Trina received her BA in Economics from Tufts University, graduating magna cum laude, and she completed her MBA at Harvard Business School.
