"Where Are The Leaders? "
Finance Leaders Fellowship featured in March CFA Institute Magazine. FLF Fellows Kim Sargent, ‘Tokunboh Ishmael, and Marang Denalane share their reflections on the program so far and the problems they want to tackle.
“Great leaders not only strive to be excellent, they enable success and create an enduring legacy through empathy and the empowerment of others,” says Kim Sargent, CFA, senior managing director for investments at the David and Lucile Packard Foundation. Sargent is one of three CFA charterholders who recently participated in the Finance Leaders Fellowship. These professionals from diverse backgrounds share a commitment to high-integrity leadership.
“I keep thinking to myself, ‘Where are the leaders?’” says another participant in the program, Marang Denalane, CFA, director of Sphere Holdings in South Africa. “We have so many societal issues that require enlightened leadership and that need people to roll up their sleeves, but they are things that also require multidimensional solutions.”

This Aspen Institute program, with co-founding sponsorship from CFA Institute, develops and inspires successful senior leaders in finance from around the world to address societal challenges using finance as a tool.
