I'm sharing a note from Headspace that I hope you share with anyone in your network or community who could benefit from our support. You can also see this on our CEO and co-founder's LinkedIn post here.

In a matter of days, the world has become a profoundly stressful place amid the COVID-19 outbreak. Here at Headspace, we’ve heard stories of anxiety, uncertainty and fear from hundreds of business leaders, healthcare providers, gig economy workers, teachers, parents, students and caregivers all over the world.

So today, we’re taking several steps to help:

1. Effective early this morning we launched free Headspace access to US healthcare providers working in public health settings - or anyone with a National Provider Identifier number. As you are all well aware, our healthcare system is facing immense pressure amid the COVID-19 outbreak, and we’re seeing incredible stress, anxiety and burnout among healthcare workers, who are on the front lines of this crisis. If you work in healthcare or know someone that does, please visit or share this link with instructions on how to claim your free subscription through the end of 2020.

While this is currently only accessible to US-based healthcare providers, we’re working with global NGOs, health systems and government officials to quickly establish ways to uniquely identify healthcare providers in countries around the world. Please email me if you can help us expand global access because we are eager to help.

2. We’re unlocking a free, specially-curated “Weathering the storm” collection of meditation and mindfulness content in the Headspace app for people around the world, available in English, French, German, Spanish, and Portuguese. Download the app and click on the Explore tab, the section is at the top of the list.

3. We’re sharing our Headspace for Work tools and resources, previously made available only to clients and customers, including content, tips, and a tailored tool kit to help teams all over the world navigate the uncertainty and take care of their minds. Please click here to sign up for our free launch pack, whether you are a small business or a large enterprise.

As experts in workplace mental health, we understand the profound and lasting impact this global health crisis has had on employees and their families everywhere.

4. Last, but certainly not least, we know the impact on teachers and caregivers in light of school closures and social distancing measures. Headspace offers free access to K-12 teachers, school administrators and supporting staff in the US, UK, Canada and Australia. And to help guide students and their parents through this tough time, we’re also sharing tools and tips for talking mindfully with young people to help educators guide kids and their parents through this public health crisis. Please click here to claim your free account and get some expert advice.

This is our small way of helping people around the world find some calm and compassion for themselves and those around them in a truly trying time. The most significant benefit of meditation is its ability to help you to rest in uncertainty. Of course, our lives are always uncertain, and it’s at times like these where we feel it more than ever. We hope these small gestures can help all of us look after the health and happiness of our minds as well as the people around us.

Stay healthy and take care of each other.

Thanks for helping share awareness of the help we can provide.

Thanks for posting Philip!

As you know from my earlier note we at Headspace are trying to find ways of supporting healthcare professionals globally. In the US we are using the National Provider Identifier as a way to verify eligibility. This has limitations even here but doesn't scale globally. If we can access email lists, unique numbers, or any other database or number we can set up an automatic authentication system that allows HCPs to immediate enroll in Headspace for free.

I'm writing to see if you have ideas of partners who can help us with this in other countries. We usually partner with medical associations and health systems an even though we're giving it away it can be slow. Any and all ideas are appreciated.
