Exciting News About the Health Innovators Fellowship

Dear Colleagues - I wanted to share some exciting news with you: On Tuesday (April 24) we finalized an agreement between the Aspen Institute and Greenville Health System for $5.1 million in additional funding over five years for the Health Innovators Fellowship — a program that was launched in 2015 in partnership with Greenville Health System (GHS) in South Carolina. The Fellowship is designed to strengthen the leadership of innovators across the US health care ecosystem, and to connect and inspire these leaders to create new approaches to improve the health and well-being of Americans.

The original GHS grant supported 3 cohorts of Fellows; this additional funding enables us to enroll five more classes, through 2022. The new agreement also extends our partnership with GHS for five years beyond 2022 – through 2028 – provided GHS is satisfied with the program’s performance in the preceding years.

The total amount of support that GHS has committed to the Institute since 2015—$9.4M, with millions more in funding possible through 2028—will enable us to continue to build a cadre of diverse leaders who are committed to leading with integrity and working to transform U.S. health care to a system that is more effective, equitable, and humane.

We are deeply grateful for our partnership with GHS, and for Hayne Hipp’s leadership and foresight in creating the Liberty Fellowship, which inspired GHS to launch a new program focused on U.S. health care.

We look forward to another decade of working with GHS to support health care leaders working to transform the U.S. health care system.

Feel free to reach out to me at anytime to learn more about the Health Innovators Fellowship.

Cheers,
