Harry Strachan is semi-retired and now focuses on teaching and pro bono activities with CALI, INCAE and Strachan Foundation. He was a founding managing partner of Mesoamerica Investments (1998 to present) and a Director in Bain & Co (1978-1998). He continues to work part time with Mesoamerica, Bain & Co and Bain Capital on investments and in new partner training. Harry was a business school professor at INCAE and the Harvard Business School from 1970 to 1979 and rector of INCAE during the 1981/1982 transition. He is president of the Strachan Foundation, which he established in honor of his parents and grandparents. He also serves as an advisor to the Mesoamerica Foundation, the INCAE Business School, Escuela Superior de Economía y Negocios in El Salvador, and the Hospital Clínica Bíblica in Costa Rica. He received his DBA from Harvard Business School, his JD from Harvard Law School, and his BA from Wheaton College. Harry was born in Costa Rica of missionary parents. He is married and has two children and five grandsons. His hobbies are golf, poker, and reading. Harry is a moderator for the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
