Title and Organization:
Dr. Giselle Poveda is former provost and professor at Universidad Americana's College of University Studies. A mentor for Vital Voices Nicaragua, she has also been Board of Directors' member for Habitat for Humanity, EDUQUEMOS, and the Strategic Studies and Public Policy Institute (IEEPP). A consultant for organizations such as IFES and Poder Ciudadano-Argentina, Giselle has written several articles on diverse topics and is author of Bienvenido a la Vida, a short-story book for young readers on ethics and values. She was selected for two DAAD's programs: UNILEAD which studies and benefits quality higher education administration in developing countries and the International Dean's Course at Saarland University and University of Alicante which develops internationalization in Latin American universities. She received a doctoral degree in higher education administration, a master's in education, graduate certificates in curricular development and education management, and bachelor's degrees in business administration, history, and philosophy with a concentrations in Tourism and Latin American studies from different institutions in the United States, Europe, and Latin America, graduating with honors. Currently, she is still contributing to the Nicaraguan education system at Lincoln International Academy. Giselle is a Fellow of the sixth class of the Central America Leadership Initiative and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
