Bio:
Dr. Giselle Poveda is a former provost and professor at Universidad Americana's College of University Studies. A mentor for Vital Voices, she has also been in the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity, EDUQUEMOS, and the Strategic Studies and Public Policy Institute (IEEPP). A consultant for organizations such as IFES, Poder Ciudadano-Argentina, Lincoln International Academy, Miami Arts Charter Schools, and Pasos al Exito, Giselle has written several articles on diverse topics and is author of Bienvenido a la Vida, a short-story book for young readers on ethics and values. She was selected for two DAAD's programs: UNILEAD, which studies and benefits quality higher education administration in developing countries, and the International Dean's Course at Saarland University and University of Alicante, which promotes internationalization in Latin American universities. She received a doctoral degree in higher education administration, a master's in education, graduate certificates in curricular development and education management, and bachelor's degrees in business administration, history, and philosophy with concentrations in Tourism and Latin American studies from different institutions in the United States, Europe, and Latin America, graduating with honors. Currently, she is still contributing to the Nicaraguan and US education systems. Giselle is a Fellow of the sixth class of the Central America Leadership Initiative and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
