Bio:
Jeff advises and invests in social enterprises, helping entrepreneurs build businesses that benefit humanity and the environment. He is co-founder of LocalCode, helping low income communities build wealth and wellbeing through local ownership. LocalCode is launching on the Eastside of Kansas City.
From 1998 to 2008, Jeff founded and ran New Leaf Paper, leading a shift toward sustainability in the paper. New Leaf pioneered a collaborative business model and successfully executed a series of major, environmentally leading product innovations, creating a new market within the paper industry for truly sustainable products. In 2010, Forbes recognized Jeff as as one of the 30 top social entrepreneurs, and New Leaf has received extensive recognition for its leadership, including Best for the Environment from B Corporation.
Since 1990, he has actively contributed to the growth of the sustainable business community as an entrepreneur, public speaker, lecturer at leading business schools, investor, and advisor to social enterprises. He was an early supporter of the rise of B Corporation, signing the B Corporation Declaration of Interdependence in 2007 with New Leaf Paper as a Founding Member, and joining Method and Plum as one of the first Delaware Public Benefit Corporations in 2011.
