Yan Zhang is the vice president for APAC Strategy & Corporate Development at S&P Global. Yan is responsible for S&P Global strategy, investments and partnership, new business development, and government and corporate affairs. Yan joined S&P Global in Oct. 2009. Prior to S&P Global, from 2004-2009, Yan was executive vice president of business development for GE Money in China. She developed strategic alliances with state-owned and private enterprises in China, growing the company's consumer finance business and establishing Chinese market joint ventures in its auto finance and credit card sectors. From 2001-2003, Yan served as president of China Interactive Media Group, a private media group, which she strengthened and streamlined into a consumer magazine publisher partnered with prominent international media brands. Yan's career also includes business development, strategy and corporate finance at Eachnet in Beijing, McKinsey & Company in Beijing, and Lehman Brothers in New York, respectively. Yan holds an MA in economics from Harvard University and an MBA in finance and business strategy from the University of Chicago. She earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Smith College in the United States and studied biochemistry at Peking University in China during her freshman and sophomore years. She is a Fellow of the fourth class of the China Fellowship Program and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
