Marqueece Harris-Dawson is president and CEO of Community Coalition. In the 1990s, Marqueece served as the director of the Community Coalition youth project, South Central Youth Empowered Through Action (SCYEA). Marqueece and Community Coalition are spearheading the African American Redistricting Collaborative (AARC) that is working to ensure that African Americans have a voice in the California redistricting process. Along with a host of board and committee posts, Marqueece has been recognized with several community commendations, recognitions and awards including the coveted Do Something "BRICK" Award and Liberty Hill Foundation's Upton Sinclair Award. Marqueece was recently honored with The California Wellness Foundation (TCWF) Sabbatical Program Award. He received his bachelor's degree from Morehouse College and a certificate in non-profit management from Stanford's Graduate School of Business. He is a Fellow of the Aspen Pahara Education Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
