Bio:
Kimberly A. Smith, Chief Learning and Innovation Officer with the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), leads the growth strategy for the global leader in youth entrepreneurship education. Kimberly is developing a portfolio of college-and-career ready programs to empower over one million low-income students to lead successful, productive lives. Prior to NFTE, Kimberly was Vice President of Education at PBS where she directed the strategy of web-based initiatives, including launching a national public broadcasting PreK-12 digital curriculum service in partnership with districts and public television stations. Kimberly also served as Vice-President of Product Development for Discovery Education where she led the creation of a portfolio of broadband, services for K-12 schools, including Discovery Streaming and curriculum digital products. Prior to Discovery, Kimberly worked at the Annenberg/Corporation for Public Broadcasting Project where she launched the online distribution channel, Learner Online. She is Board Chair of the Arts and Technology Academy Public Charter School. She most recently served as Board Secretary for the Black Alliance for Educational Options (BAEO). She received her M.B.A from Johns Hopkins University and her Bachelors of Science in Journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Kimberly is a Fellow of the 6th class of Aspen-Pahara fellows and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
