Title and Organization:
Annmarie Higgins is the former vice president of human resources for SCANA Corporation. She served previously as the vice president of corporate human resources Americas for BMW, and as vice president of HR for the manufacturing plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina before. Prior to joining BMW, she worked for Mitsubishi Polyester Film (formerly Hoechst Celanese), where she served as the company's human resources director at their facility in Greer. She led the development of Mitsubishi Polyester Film's Global Leadership Program as well as the creation of a new health care initiative that achieved national recognition as a result of implementing a number of innovative solutions and best practices. Annmarie has been involved in the start-up of the South Carolina Business Coalition on Health, where she currently serves as chair. She is a graduate of The Riley Institute Diversity Leaders Initiative and formerly held a number of board positions, including United Way Young Philanthropist Society, United Way Healthy Community Impact Council, Leadership Greenville, and Opportunity Greenville. Annmarie earned her bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Virginia. She is a Fellow of the ninth class of the Liberty Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
