José de Jesús Rojas is economic consultant for Central American region. He is former head of Strategic Planning and Programming Office of Central America Bank of Economic Integration (CABEI). He has been fostering economic integration and economic and social development of the Central American region by providing financial and economic analysis as well as strategic advise to governments, enterprises and multilateral institutions for the last 20 years. He is also former General Manager of Central Bank of Nicaragua (CBN). He is also a co-author of many economic policy papers as well as other researches. In 2009, he led a successful organizational re engineering effort at CBN through strengthening its legal charter, administrative structure, and strategic planning framework. José de Jesús has also led relevant projects in the statistical field such as the strengthening of Nicaraguan's National Accounts System. In 2008, he was invited to the United States Department of State to participate in the International Visitor Leadership Program, U.S.Financial System. Rojas has been attending Governor's board meetings of international financial institutions. In 1994, he was awarded a Francisco Marroquin Foundation's scholarship, funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development. The scholarship enabled him to complete his master's degree in Chile. He was born in Nicaragua and he is a Central American at heart, having received his early education in Nicaragua, Guatemala, and Costa Rica. In Costa Rica, he graduated as an economist. He is a Fellow of the eighth class of the Central America Leadership Initiative and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
