Bio:
Eric Li is a venture capitalist and political scientist in Shanghai. He founded Chengwei Capital in 1999. With an investment portfolio of over $3 Billion, Chengwei primarily invests in technology companies that have scalable business opportunities in the global Chinese econmy. Eric is founder and chairman of Guancha.cn, one of China's largest news and opinions medias. He is a trustee of Fudan University's China Institute and chairman of its advisory council, a trustee of Asia Society Hong Kong, and a member of the board of the SciTech Business School at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). He is a frequent contributor to The New York Times, Foreign Affairs, Financial Times, the Economist, and the Global Times. Eric received his BA from University of California, Berkeley and his MBA from Stanford Business School, and PhD in political science from Fudan University. He is a 2008 Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. His recent book, Party Life - Chinese Governance and the World Beyond Liberalism, was published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2023.
