Bio:
Eric Li is a venture capitalist and political scientist in Shanghai. He founded Chengwei Capital in 1999. With an investment portfolio of over $3 Billion, Chengwei primarily invests in technology companies that have scalable business opportunities in the global Chinese econmy. Eric founded Guancha.cn, one of China's largest news and opinions medias. He is a trustee of Fudan University's China Institute and chairman of its advisory council, a trustee of the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive of the University of California, Berkeley, a trustee of the San Francisco Symphony, a trustee of Asia Society Hong Kong, and a member of the Council of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), which organizes the annual Shangri La Dialogue. He is a frequent contributor to The New York Times, Foreign Affairs,Finanical Times, the Economist, and the Global Times. Eric received his BA from University of California, Berkeley and his MBA from Stanford Business School, and PhD in political science from Fudan University. He is a 2008 Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
