Bio:
Keith R. Mestrich is president & CEO of Amalgamated Bank, a values-based financial institution. Under Keith’s leadership, Amalgamated has undertaken a number of initiatives to underscore its values-based mission, including the support of a $15 minimum wage as the first bank to raise its minimum wage to $15 for all employees; its acceptance of IDNYC as an alternative form of ID to open a bank account; and the company’s certification as a B Corp, recognizing for-profit companies that meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. Keith has three decades of experience in the financial sector, many of those assisting the Bank’s core constituencies in labor, non-profits, political organizations, and issue-advocacy campaigns. In 2017, Keith was profiled on City & State as one of the “25 Most Influential Leaders in Manhattan.” He also serves as a member on the Board of Directors for the Mayor’s Fund for New York City. Keith graduated magna cum laude from Kalamazoo College with a degree in political science and public policy, where he was elected as a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
