Title and Organization:
Toyin A. Crowther is the Program Manager at ALI West Africa (Nigeria) where she leads and executes on various projects. She previously worked as a Program Development Officer at Adara Foundation which primarily provides services for low income women ranging from Arts training in tie-dye/batik making, health services to entrepreneurial training. There she conceptualized and developed content for programs by taking them from ideation to implementation, She also worked as a program officer at WIMBIZ(Women in Management, Business and Public Service) and has served in different roles at various non-for-profit organizations, including Community Life Project, Westminster homecare United Kingdom, YMCA and YWCA, Toronto Canada. She has experience in stakeholder engagement, grants and proposal writing, Program planning, facilitation and execution. During her studies, her field placements were with the YMCA and YWCA Toronto where she assisted with advocacy for women fleeing domestic violence, organized programs for single mothers and their children living in the organizations subsidized housing. Her role at the YWCA also had her organizing a community kitchen for the women at the onsite resident shelter. She has organized leadership trainings and workshops for young girls both locally and internationally. She also has experience with mobilizing and training grassroots women in civic engagement and contesting political offices. She served as an accredited observer in the 2015 National elections. Toyin studied Social Work at Ryerson University Toronto, Canada for her bachelor's degree. Her passions lie with building capacity for marginalized, underserved and underprivileged populations, particularly women and girls.
