Adam Carter is chief academic officer at Summit Public Schools, a charter management and school partnership organization supporting over 20,000 students in 27 states. Adam leads research and development at Summit, and previously managed all academic programs, curricula, data and information, product development, coaching, and professional development across the network. For a decade, Adam was a teacher in Argentina, Indonesia, and California, and he founded a NGO program advancing teacher development in Jakarta. He was a founding teacher at Summit Preparatory Charter School, where he received California's New Outstanding Teacher Award. In their spare time, Adam and his wife, Maureen, recently co-founded ClassJourney, a free social learning platform that builds bridges directly from the halls of leading research institutions into classroom practice. He is also an avid surfer and will be forever grateful to his parents for instilling in him a love of the outdoors. Adam holds a master's degree from Stanford University and a bachelor's from Presbyterian College. He is a Fellow of the 18th class of the Pahara - Aspen Education Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
