Jewel serves at Amazon in Visual Search & AR, joining the company as part of the acquisition of her business, Partpic in 2016. Partpic built a computer vision system to recognize parts and match them to a specific SKU, making the purchase of replacement parts easier for consumers. As Cofounder and CEO of Partpic, Jewel was responsible for building the business model and go-to-market strategy, recruiting and managing a team of machine learning and database engineers, creating the development and design timelines, and securing 10+ enterprise customers to license Partpic for their mobile applications and websites. She successfully negotiated the deal to sell the company to Amazon in October 2016. Jewel was concurrently Entrepreneur in Residence – Diversity Markets at Google, helping underserved business owners leverage the power of the web and learn how to use Google tools to grow online business. Prior to founding Partpic, Jewel was a Supervisor at McMaster-Carr. Previously, she was an Enterprise Sales Associate at Google. Jewel currently serves as an angel investor and advisor to several early stage companies, and is on the Board of Advisors for Goodie Nation and Harvard Debate Council Diversity Project. She was recognized in 2016 as one of Forbes 30 Under 30 and was a 2017 LEAD Atlanta Fellow. Jewel earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Howard University. She is a member of the 2019 Class of Henry Crown Fellows within the Aspen Global Leadership Network at the Aspen Institute.
