Title and Organization:
Adela Madrigal Jones is the Superintendent of the Sanger Unified School District in California, where she is in her 32nd year in the district. She began her career as an elementary teacher before leaving the classroom to work in the English Learner Services Department for the district. During that time, she trained teachers and administrators in best practices for English Learners. Adela then moved on to administration, serving as a Vice Principal and Elementary Principal. She then moved to the district office as Associate Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction and oversaw the district's transition to Common Core and California's new accountability system. She assumed the role of Superintendent in July of 2018. Adela received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from California State University, Fresno and her Master’s Degree in Bilingual Education from Fresno Pacific University. Along with her credential in Multiple Subjects, she also has her Bilingual Specialist Credential, as well as her Professional Administrative Credential. She is a member of Sanger Rotary and serves on its board. In her free time, Adela enjoys spending time at the family cabin in the mountains or traveling with her husband and two children.
