Title and Organization:
Karen A. Herrling is a licensed, practicing attorney with particular expertise in the federal, state, and non-profit sectors. Karen just completed a three-year stint working for Governor Tom Wolf of Pennsylvania as the Director of the Office of Social Programs at the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS). In this role, she managed five multi-million-dollar grant programs that provided services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, legal civil services to low-income individuals, and reproductive health services to men and women throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In addition, Karen supervised a DHS-wide housing program and a school-based access Medicaid program. Prior to her service in Pennsylvania, Karen served as an attorney at the Catholic Legal Immigration Network, the United States Department of Justice, the United Stated Department of Agriculture, and the Office of Appellate Defender in New York City. Karen is a graduate of Georgetown University and Georgetown University Law Center.
