Title and Organization:
Betsy Beaumon is a social entrepreneur, advisor, author, and consultant. She is the former CEO of Benetech, a nonprofit that empowers communities with software for social good. Betsy has been advocating for ethical and inclusive technology for over a decade and developing products to address inclusion, equity, and justice for marginalized communities across the globe. She coined the term “Born Accessible” to describe the goal of digital content and products that work for all from the start. Betsy brings a unique technical, nonprofit, and for-profit perspective to topics such as artificial intelligence, smart cities, civic/social impact tech, and data privacy. Betsy holds a degree in electrical engineering from Northwestern University, and is a contributor to the upcoming book, “Accessible Technology and the Developing World,” from Oxford University Press.
