Andrew Zaloumis is the founder CEO of South Africa's first UNESCO World Heritage site, the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. His work is resulting in the rewilding of iSimangaliso and economic turn around of the region underpinned by meaningful empowerment and economic benefits to local communities. Andrew’s roots are in human rights-based development and indigenous knowledge systems. He has lived and worked for over 25 years in poverty stricken rural areas with high conservation value. Andrew Zaloumi’s is a recipient of the WWF Living Planet Award and is a 2016 McNulty Prize Laureate . His leadership project is the Rural Enterprise Accelerator Programme (REAP) which works with rural entrepreneurs in and around conservation areas of high ecological value. He is a Fellow of the sixth class of the Africa Leadership Initiative-South Africa.
