Okello "Paul" Aliker is a general dentist and CEO of The Dental Studio in Kampala, Uganda. A second generation dentist, Paul practiced briefly in Illinois before pursuing his dream of returning to Africa and setting up a practice in his own country. The Dental Studio is acknowledged as a leading dental practice in eastern Africa and draws patients from throughout the region. Paul received a commendation from the White House Communications Agency in appreciation of services rendered to agency members supporting President Clinton's historic 1998 tour of Africa. Paul has volunteered on the boards of several social, professional and sports organizations and is currently the chair of Zawadi Africa Education Fund (Uganda), a NGO that provides leadership mentoring and scholarships to academically gifted but financially challenged young women. He has a certificate in Healthcare Management from Strathmore Business School, Nairobi and is a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He recently completed the core curriculum of the Dawson Academy, a leading post-graduate dental institute which up-skills clinicians to treat the most demanding cosmetic and rehabilitation cases. Paul has a BA (Human Biology) and DDS from Brown and Northwestern universities, respectively. He completed his dental general practice residency at Palo Alto VA Medical Center and is licensed in the United States, Uganda, and Kenya. Paul is a fellow of the fourth class of the Africa Leadership Initiative-East Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
