Bio:
David E. Dukes is managing partner of the Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP law firm which has offices in South Carolina, Georgia, North Carolina, Washington, D.C., and Boston. He practices from the Columbia office in the areas of pharmaceutical, business, technology and patent litigation. He is a past president of the Defense Research Institute, a 22,000-member national professional organization of attorneys who defend civil litigation. He is president of Lawyers for Civil Justice, a Washington, D.C.-based national coalition supporting excellence, fairness and improvements within the civil justice system at both the state and national levels. He is a trustee of the University of South Carolina Business Partnership Foundation of the Moore School of Business, and serves on the board of the Foundation for the South Carolina Governor's School for Science and Mathematics. He also serves on the Advisory Committee of the Law Firm Pro Bono Project, Georgetown University Law Center, and the Board of Directors of First Citizens Bank. He is a past member of the Clemson University Board of Visitors and past co-chair of the City Year Advisory Board. David earned his BS in financial management from Clemson University and graduated cum laude with a JD from the University of South Carolina School of Law. He is a Fellow of the inaugural class of the Liberty Fellowship Program and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
