Bio:
Allen Gillespie is the Managing Partner of Investments for FinTrust Capital Advisors, LLC. He is the former chairman and currently serves on the South Carolina Retirement System Investment Commission, which is responsible for managing the assets of the $30 billion South Carolina Retirement System Trusts. He holds multiple financial designations, including Chartered Financial Analyst, and was recognized as one of Institutional Investor's "20 Rising Stars of Hedge Funds" in 2008. Institutional Investor also awarded South Carolina's Pension Plan the "Large Plan of the Year" award in 2008. Gillespie earned his Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude in Economics from Washington & Lee University. He is a Fellow of the ninth class of the Liberty Fellowship Program and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
