Bio:
Sigal Shapira serves as CEO of Julius Baer Financial Services (Israel) Ltd., a Tel-Aviv-based investment services company fully owned by one of the leading Swiss private banking groups worldwide (SIX: BAER). Sigal assumed this role in 2013 following the acquisition of the international wealth management business of Bank of America Merrill Lynch by Julius Baer. Prior to joining Julius Baer, Sigal was Head of Global Wealth Management for Israel at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where she had joined in 2000 as a Senior International Financial Advisor based in New York. During her 13 years with Merrill Lynch, she served high net worth individuals and companies domiciled in Israel and she was responsible for leading a team of financial advisors based in Tel Aviv, New York, London, Paris and Geneva. In her earlier career, Sigal served as an Attorney in the economic investigations department for the Israel Securities Authority. Sigal earned her master's degree in business administration from City University of New York and her law degree (LLB) as well as bachelor’s degree in economics, graduating magna cum laude, from the Tel Aviv University Law School and School of Economics. She is licensed in Israel as portfolio manager and investment advisor, and was FINRA-certified and CIMA accredited in the United States. Sigal and her husband live in Tel Aviv where they are raising their four children. She is passionate about music, plays the piano, and sings in a choir. Sigal is a Fellow of the 2017 class of the Finance Leaders Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
