Title and Organization:
James Abraham is the founder and director of SolarArise, which develops, owns and operates solar-power plants in India. Prior to this, he was the Managing Director of SunBorne Energy, which focused on engineering solutions to implement solar in India at low cost. James and the team led the development of solar policy in India. James is currently a member of the US-India Track 2 Dialogue on Climate Change, and serves on several boards.
Prior to SunBorne, James was a senior partner at The Boston Consulting Group in India, where he founded and led BCG’s New Delhi office.
He serves on several boards including LnT Infotech (LTi), SmartPower India, Vistaar Finance, LnT Water, and International Justice Mission. James has a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Waterloo, an MBA (Palmer Scholar) from the Wharton School, and an MA (international relations) from the Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies. He is a Fellow of the 3rd Generation Class of Ananta Aspen Centre’s Kamalnayan Bajaj Fellowship, as well as a moderator for and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
