Leadership Ventures - Moving from Thought to Action

Being part of the Aspen Global Leadership Network means taking action on some of the world's most pressing challenges. As part of every Fellowship, each Fellow is required to start a leadership venture of his or her choosing that tackles a social or environmental challenge.

Why do Fellows undertake leadership ventures?
Ventures are opportunities for Fellows to put their passions, talents, and resources to work in helping to solve a societal challenge. Often, Fellows enter their programs having spent most of their careers focused on building their businesses. Most haven’t thought about what more they could do for the world, or if they have, haven’t yet pursued it. Fellowships offer the pause they need to reflect on their values and, through ventures, the opportunity to act on them.

We believe that channeling the creativity of leaders who may not have been moved to act were it not for the Fellowship will bring unique solutions to some of the world’s most vexing problems.

What's the impact of Fellows ventures?
With over 2,500 ventures launched, Fellows have already made significant strides addressing some of the most intractable problems facing our world today. Fellows are using their businesses and organizational platforms to close educational achievement gaps, improve access to health care, promote sustainable fishing, raise financial literacy, create new jobs, fight domestic violence, build new pipelines of ethical leadership, and much, much more.

Below are a few examples of ventures launched by Fellows that have been recognized as laureates of the John P. McNulty Prize
