Bio:
Currently, Richard Nyankori is Director of Leadership Programs at Netflix. His consulting practice, RJN Consulting, focuses on providing investment diligence support and leadership development.
Prior to Netflix, Richard was the CEO and co-founder of Distillio, an education technology start-up focused on improving the success of students with disabilities. Before Distillio, Richard was the executive vice president of Insight Education Group where he established its award-winning product development team. Richard served as Deputy Chancellor of Special Education for the District of Columbia Public Schools where he instituted a sweeping set of reforms to reverse the decades-long decline of the special education in the nation’s capital.
He serves on the non-profit boards of Education Leaders of Color (EdLoC) and the National Association for Advanced Teacher Education (NAATE). He formerly participated on the boards of RedefineED ATL and the SWIFT Center (University of Kansas). Currently, Richard serves on the boards of Kinems and Goalbook. He formerly served on the boards of Curriculum Associates, Brightside Academies, and IO Education (now part of Illuminate Education).
Richard is a member of Class IV of the Pahara-Aspen Fellowship. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland, an MS from McDaniel College and a BA from Emory University.
