Julie Gilbert is an inventive global recent technology CEO known for her growth-focused thought leadership, culturally engaging vision, and digital transformation that drives profitable and cultural growth in large public companies. Ms. Gilbert has worked successfully as a CEO and senior executive in public and private enterprises across multiple industries as well as for the largest public accounting and consulting organization, Deloitte. She has been repeatedly tapped to architect and lead turnarounds, reinventions, and new business initiatives for B2C and B2B organizations. She has successfully built and led 8 differentiated, highly profitable businesses and has had P&L responsibility ranging from $100M to over $7.5B. A proven expert at innovative business growth, she builds large scale, forward focused digital strategies – one example being a transformative business built from inception for Best Buy that changed the company’s mindset on the power of diversity as a business strategy. She drove over $7.5B in sustainable revenue adding over 9 million new female customers, and created an inclusive and innovative internal culture. Ms. Gilbert is an expert in finance and accounting.
Most recently she served as the Board Chair, CEO and founder for PreciouStatus, an annual subscription model SaaS mobile technology company deployed in 178 countries enabling a private user-friendly platform of communication between families and their loves ones in healthcare and educational facilities.
She served as Chief Customer Engagement & Growth Officer for Polaris, a Fortune 500 powersports manufacturer. Ms. Gilbert created a global new and existing customer engagement plan that engaged national dealers/partners and passionate strategically identified customers to drive profitable growth of existing and new female and millennial customers globally. Prior, as CEO/Founder of Wolf Means Business, Ms. Gilbert engaged global clients to create new adjacent business growth models, marketing strategies, and technology products and services. On average, clients saw increased revenue between 19% to 34% and 18 to 34% increase in gross margin. At Best Buy, a Fortune 50 retailer, as Senior Vice President, she built and grew 5 businesses and 3 enterprise-wide capabilities from the customer backwards and drove enterprise growth in adjacent and new businesses, strategic alliances, and innovations focused on acquisition of non-traditional customers. She also spent 8.5 years with Deloitte working on the Office of the Chairman accounts.
She is an Aspen Institute Henry Crown Fellow and has been a frequent TED keynote speaker on unorthodox business paradox, transformational, and diversity/inclusion reinvention. She is an adjunct professor at New York University in the Masters in Business program and frequent lecturer at the University of Michigan and the University of Minnesota.
Julie holds an MBA in Strategy and Marketing and a BS in Accounting from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. She is also a 26 year Active and Licensed CPA in the state of Minnesota and an NACD Board Fellow. She is passionate about being in nature, history, fitness, and spending time with her son.
