She has been more than 23 years at Intel. Started at Intel as Customs & Free Trade Zone Specialist in the Finance Department and then moved to Corporate Affairs as the Government Affairs Manager. In 2015 became the LAR Corporate Affairs Director her responsibilities included corporate social responsibility, innovation & social impact programs for Latin America. In 2017 assumed the position of Global Scaling Manager of the Intel Future Skills Program and moved to Arizona. Joined the Global Diversity and Inclusion Office as Latinx, LGBT+ and India communities Program Manager. Nowadays is the Diversity and Inclusion, Products & Systems Integration Director.
She did study customs administration and holds an MBA with an international business emphasis. Currently is an Aspen Institute fellow under the Central American Leadership Initiative (CALI).

Represented Intel in different Board of Directors in Costa Rica as Industries Chamber, Association of Free Zone Companies, Association of Businesses for Development (CSR). In 2009 she got a recognition from the business newspaper in Costa Rica, “El Financiero” as a country leader. The newspaper recognizes every year the top 40 country leaders under 40 years old. In 2018 launched her Best Seller: Unleash Your Career Potential.
She is a certified mentor of Vital Voices in Costa Rica, which is a non-governmental organization (NGO) that identifies, trains, and empowers emerging women leaders and social entrepreneurs around the globe. Vital Voices looks to invest in and bring visibility to extraordinary women around the world by unleashing their leadership potential to transform lives and accelerate peace and prosperity. She has been also driving from her area of responsibility efforts to engage women in science and technology and to create consciousness on the importance of educating girls and women to drive an economic improvement in the country. Due to her leadership, the Vital Voices Costa Rican chapter launched the first group of male mentors at Intel and at the global level to support diversity and inclusion.
Karla enjoys spending time with her son, Andres, friends, and family. Has a special passion for the Ocean and is a certified scuba diver. Meditation is part of her daily routine. She also enjoys reading and dancing.
