Cindy Kent is an experienced healthcare executive known for her transformational and visionary leadership. She is the Executive Vice President & President of Senior Living at Brookdale Senior Living—America’s largest senior living company. With an annual revenue of $4.1B, Kent is a member of the Executive Leadership Team and responsible for all operational aspects of growth, profitability, transformation and strategic planning for Brookdale’s senior living portfolio. Kent was an independent director with Best Buy Co.’s Board of Directors, 2018 to 2020 and served as a member of the Finance and Investment Policy as well as the Compensation and Human Resources committees. Kent is currently a Trustee of Vanderbilt University, where she serves as a member of the Audit as well as the Academic and Student Affairs committees.
She was previously the President & General Manager of the 3M Infection Prevention Division—a $1.7B+ global business with operations in over sixty countries worldwide. Before 3M, Cindy held executive and roles of successive responsibility at Medtronic and Eli Lilly and Company. She is a sought-after public speaker who is deeply committed to corporate and civic leadership. She is a passionate mentor and advocate for promoting women and people of color in STEM careers. Cindy has an undergraduate degree in engineering from Northwestern University and dual master’s degrees in marketing and divinity from Vanderbilt University.
She is a member of the C200, the Executive Leadership Council, The Links Incorporated and Delta Sigma Theta. She is a 2007 German Marshall Fellow, as well as a 2013 Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute.
