Bio:
Russ Altenburg is a Co-founder and Partner of Reframe Labs, a nonprofit that identifies and supports diverse leaders to design and launch the schools of tomorrow. Previously, he was an Associate Director at the Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation, where he managed a $30M+ portfolio of grants in the areas of personalized learning, innovative school models, and state policy. Prior to joining the foundation, he was an Education Pioneers Fellow at NewSchools Venture Fund, and in 2010, started a peer-to-peer blended learning program in the Santa Barbara Unified School District. Before pursuing his MBA, Russ helped build schools in Uganda, Cambodia, Thailand, and Honduras as a co-founder of the nonprofit Global Playground and Chief Operating Officer of Students Helping Honduras. He previously worked at JPMorgan advising corporate clients on currency risk management. Russ holds a BSc in Economics from Duke University and an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management, where he was awarded the John Wooden Leadership Fellowship. He was also part of the inaugural cohort of the Pahara Next Gen Network.
