Title and Organization:
Amma leads the Africa region of Reach for Change - a Venture Philanthropist which runs accelerators, incubators and hubs for social entrepreneurs in key growth markets including Ghana, Tanzania, Rwanda, DRC, Chad, Senegal and Ethiopia. In her role, Amma leads the Reach for Change Africa team to identify and invest in social entrepreneurs, who have the highest potential to improve the world for children, women and youth. Entrepreneurs receive funding, training, coaching, etc. to develop and scale their organizations to deliver measurable social impact in a way that is financially sustainable. The programs are delivered in partnership with corporate partners such as telecoms and media company Millicom, and entertainment broadcasting group Modern Times Group (MTG) and social sector partners such as UNICEF. She brings to this role a background as a social entrepreneur and a passion for children’s rights. She is also co-founder of the African Social Entrepreneurship Network (ASEN). ASEN is an organization that supports entrepreneurs and other organizations in the Social Enterprise space in various African countries, to set up and grow networks to enable more thriving social enterprise ecosystems. She is also co-founder of SE Ghana, the Ghana affiliate of ASEN. Prior to Reach for Change she was co-founder and Executive Director of One Hen, Inc. a US based nonprofit. She was also Executive Director of the HuD group. Amma graduated with a BA from the University of Ghana and an MBA from Babson College. She is a Fellow of the fifth class of the Africa Leadership Initiative-West Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
