First Name:
Jen
Last Name:
Holleran
Title and Organization:
Education, Education Advisor
Bio:
Jen Holleran advises philanthropic donors, supporting new and established donors and foundations, and focusing on a future of learning that is more student centered and whole child. Before that, she led the launch and initial six years of Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan’s education philanthropy. She worked with Mark and Priscilla from their earliest investments in citywide school improvement, to Bay Area education equity investments, to supporting the visioning and development of The Primary School, to launching and building out their work on personalized learning and launching CZI. She is committed to education as one of the fundamental drivers of equity and opportunity, and focuses on the need to create more equitable and student-centered opportunities for all young people, as well as the critical role of teachers and school leaders.   Jen started her career as a teacher and principal. She holds her MBA from Yale, BA and MEd from Harvard.  She is a Pahara fellow. Jen recently served for a decade as a trustee of Phillips Exeter Academy, Lincoln School Foundation and others. She lives outside of Boston with her husband (a child psychiatrist for Boston Medical Center, the area's primary Federally Qualified Health Center) and thirteen year old twins.
