Bio:
Jennifer is Director of Communication with Houston Endowment, a philanthropic organization supporting efforts in Houston focused on education, health and human services, arts and culture, and the environment. Previously, Jennifer spent 17 years with YES Prep Public Schools. A founding team member, she served in successive roles as teacher, counselor, school leader, chief academic officer, senior vice president for people and program and chief operating officer. Under her programmatic leadership, YES achieved one of the strongest track records in the country both for talent development and student success. YES campuses were consistently named as top schools in the country by both U.S. News and World Report and Newsweek. In 2010 YES was recognized by Oprah Winfrey as a national model, and in 2012 YES received the inaugural Broad Prize for Public Charter Schools. Jennifer has a BA from the University of Virginia and a Master’s degree from Harvard University School of Education. She was a TFA corps member and a 2012 Pahara Fellow (Cohort 5) at the Aspen Institute. Jennifer shares her life with her husband Sam and daughters Olivia and Josephine. In her spare time, she enjoys tennis, reading, cooking, cheering on the Yankees and early morning workouts.
