First Name:
Debbie
Last Name:
Liao
Title and Organization:
Director, Transpacific Group Asia
Bio:
Debbie Liao is Director at Transpacific Group (Asia) Limited, an Asia-focused placement company for leading US and European private equity and alternative investments. Previously she served as a director of YH Properties, an investment firm specializing in real estate and development. Debbie worked in corporate strategy and general management for a private hospitality and real estate group in Greater China for six years. From 2009-10, she was the first employee of Burt's Bees in Asia and grew the skincare brand's regional presence by opening new countries, realigning brand and merchandising strategy, and identifying new product opportunities. Her Burt's Bees role as Asia Marketing Manager was very entrepreneurial and balanced the art and science of Asian consumer insights with the needs of an American brand. Philanthropy is an integral part of Debbie's beliefs. Since 2010, she has been an active mentor with the Young Entrepreneurs of the Future program, which mentors college graduates in launching new businesses. She previously advised Oxfam Hong Kong on their strategy to reinvigorate corporate philanthropy while realigning their marketing message. She earned her bachelor's degree in economics from Stanford University and her MBA from Harvard Business School. Debbie is a Fellow of the China Fellowship Program and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
