Leong Cheung was appointed executive director of charities & community by the Hong Kong Jockey Club in August of 2014. He also serves as co-founder and chairman of RunOurCity, a foundation that generates positive social impacts through running programs for young people. Leong was formerly operating partner with Bain Capital Asia. Prior to joining Bain Capital in 2008, he was managing director of global sourcing & supply chain of Esquel Enterprises. He was an entrepreneur and a senior consultant with the Boston Consulting Group before that. Cheung has a diverse exposure in community engagements. He taught strategy & change implementation at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) for 5 years as a part time lecturer from '99 to '03, co-founded a young professional forum 30S Group in 2003, and has been a board of director of Social Venture Hong Kong (SVHK) since its inception in 2007. A native mainland Chinese who grew up in Hong Kong, Cheung obtained a BBA from CUHK and a MBA from the Harvard Business School. Leong is a Fellow of the inaugural class of the China Fellowship Program and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
