Title and Organization:
Cybele is Vice President for Federal Strategy at Johns Hopkins University. Previously, she was a Distinguished Visitor at the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown University’s Law Center and a Senior Fellow at Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy. Until January 2018, Cybele Bjorklund was head of policy at Sanofi, where she oversaw global policy and led efforts to develop and implement positions and relationships that supported Sanofi’s strategic objectives. Prior to this role, Cybele spent 20 years in senior professional policy roles on key Committees and in leadership for the US Senate and House of Representatives. During this time, Cybele helped shape and write numerous Medicare changes, the Affordable Care Act, and many other laws affecting private health insurance and key federal health programs. Previously, she was a research analyst at CMS. Cybele serves on the Policy Advisory Committee for the Medicare Rights Center, is a member of the National Academy of Social Insurance, and is on the board of directors for the David A. Winston Health Policy Fellowship. She also recently served on the Steering Committee for Value-Based Health Care at the World Economic Forum. Cybele received a master’s degree from The Johns Hopkins University’s School of Public Health, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon. She is a Fellow of the second class of the Health Innovators Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
