Bio:
Wayne Franklin, MD serves as the co-director at the Heart Center at Phoenix Children's Hospital and professor of medicine, child health, and OB-GYNat the University of Arizona-College of Medicine, Phoenix, since 2018. Wayne was elected to the Baylor College of Medicine (Houston, TX) Faculty Senate in 2015, where he represents more than 700 faculty members. In recognition of his faculty leadership, he received two prestigious Fulbright and Jaworski Awards for Baylor College of Medicine Faculty Excellence—one award for teaching and the other for educational leadership. Wayne earned his bachelor's degrees in chemistry and political science from Williams College in Massachusetts and his MD from UCLA School of Medicine. He also served as the Mayor Pro Tem in his former city of West University Place, near Houston. Wayne is a Fellow of the second class of the Health Innovators Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
