Bio:
Terry Ryan serves as CEO of the Boise-based education nonprofit Bluum and of the Idaho Charter School Network. He is responsible for leading Idaho’s “20 in 10” Initiative, which seeks to, “close the gap between mediocrity and excellence in college and career readiness by creating 20,000 new, high performing charter seats in 10-years.” From 2001 to 2013, he served as vice president for Ohio programs and policy at the Thomas B. Fordham Institute in Dayton, Ohio. He led all Ohio operations for Fordham, including charter school sponsorship, grantmaking, and state policy efforts. He co-authored, with Chester E. Finn, Jr., and Michael B. Lafferty, Ohio’s Education Reform Challenges: Lessons from the Frontlines(Palgrave Macmillan) in 2010. Mr. Ryan is a member of the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools State Leaders Council, and helped to start both the Ohio Alliance for Public Charter Schools and School Choice Ohio. He is also a member of the Rural Opportunities Consortium of Idaho (ROCI). He is a Fellow of the second class of the Pahara-Aspen Education Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
