Bio:
Gloria has focused her career on building organizations to improve student learning, especially for children farthest from opportunity. She currently teaches graduate-level classes in social entrepreneurship at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley. She is also currently working on a new initiative to transform foundational math outcomes for preK-5 students nationwide. In 2023, she produced 2 documentary films and an animated short film on international solutions in K12 education for the Center on Reinventing Public Education. Previously, she founded and led Educate78 (to accelerate ecosystem-wide improvement in public education in Oakland, CA). Gloria also served as President at NewSchools Venture Fund, a leading venture philanthropy. She co-founded and led Teaching Channel (a professional development video platform), Yu Ming Charter School (California’s first Mandarin immersion charter school and now a National Blue Ribbon school), and Aspire Public Schools (national charter management organization). Gloria started her career as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company. She received her BS in Applied Economics at Cornell University, and MBA and MA in Education at Stanford University.
