Bio:
As Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at The National Math + Science Initiative, Tracy leads the organization's internal operations and strategy, overseeing the academic, finance, IT and human capital teams with an overall focus on organizational strength and growth. Prior to joining NMSI, Tracy was both a regional superintendent and the Chief Academic Officer at Achievement First Public Charter Schools, and founding Chief Academic Officer for IDEA Public Schools, where she saw the impact of NMSI programs first-hand. She also served as program director for Teach For America-Rio Grande Valley, and co-authored the original charter for the IDEA Academy (now IDEA Public Schools) before joining the team that lead its flagship high school – IDEA College Preparatory in Donna, Texas. Tracy holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from The University of Texas at Austin, a master’s degree from The University of Texas-Pan American and dual bachelor’s degrees in political science and history from Case Western Reserve University, where she was named the 2015 Distinguished Alumni in the College of Arts and Sciences. She is also a Pahara-Fellow, Cohort IV, of the Aspen Institute.
