Carl Zaragoza is a civic leadership development and political management executive dedicated to cultivating and supporting a new generation of civic leaders committed to driving meaningful change. With expertise in candidate recruitment, political management, public policy, and leadership development, Carl has helped hundreds of diverse leaders run for office, shape policy, and transform systems to build thriving communities.
As a senior executive at LEE, Carl sets the vision and strategy for scaling leadership development and expanding opportunities for members to lead in elected office, policy, and advocacy.
Beyond LEE, Carl co-founded School Board Partners, supporting elected leaders in governing effectively and advancing equity-focused policies. His passion for civic leadership stems from his experience as a former middle school civics teacher and a twice-elected member of the Creighton School District Governing Board in Arizona. Carl is a Teach For America alumnus and a United States Army veteran. He is also a serial Ironman triathlon finisher, having completed multiple 140.6-mile races. He earned his M.B.A. from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.
Carl is a Pahara-Aspen Fellow and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. He lives in Oregon with his family and rescue dog.
