Bio:
Masood Hussainy is vice president of Tata Advanced Systems. He has cross-functional experience in Strategy, Program Management, Operations and Marketing across industries such as Telecom, Aerospace & Defense and Energy. He has significant experience in working in up-scaling start-up companies. In his current role he has P&L responsibility for the various Aerospace ventures including the JVs and manages a 1500 strong team including expatriate aerospace experts. He was instrumental in the turn around and exponential ramp up of S-92 Helicopter Cabin production by driving implementation of Lean Manufacturing and Total Operational Performance. The factories currently produce at much higher rates than previous Japanese incumbent meeting stringent Aerospace quality standards. He was previously in the Chairman's Office at Tata Sons and was part of the team at the Tata Group center which structured partnerships with leading global companies such as Sikorsky, Lockheed Martin, IAI, Boeing and Sasol. Before joining the Chairman's Office, he was with Tata Teleservices where his last responsibility was as National Marketing Head of Post Paid Mobile. Masood holds a degree in mechanical engineering and an MBA in International Business. He is a keen trivia quizzer and has won several national level business quizzes including the prestigious Brand equity Quiz 2004. He also plays cricket in the minor leagues, and was a part of the TAS cricket team which was a runner-up in the SAP Corporate 2010. Masood is a Fellow of the fifth class of the Kamalnayan Bajaj Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Gloabl Leadership Network.
