Bio:
Ravi is Managing Director of Finance for Goldman Sachs in India. He serves as a member of the India Operating Committee, the Asia Pacific Operational Risk Committee, the Asia Pacific Finance Committee and the GSIB Operating Committee. Ravi is also co-chair of the Mumbai Diversity Committee, a member of the India Diversity Council and an MD ally of the Lesbian Gay, Bisexual & Transgender (LGBT) Network. Ravi joined Goldman Sachs in 1998 as a vice president in the Finance Division in Hong Kong, assuming various responsibilities in that group before taking over as financial controller for Asia Pacific Ex-Japan in 2002. He relocated back to India in 2004 as chief financial officer of Goldman Sachs India, and was one of the key members of the team who helped conceptualize and set up the Goldman Sachs office in Bangalore. Ravi was named managing director in 2006. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Ravi worked at other investment banks for five years and before that, was a partner for over a decade at a chartered accountancy firm that he founded. Ravi represents the firm at the American Chamber of Commerce of India and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry. Ravi earned a BSc from Fergusson College, India, in 1978 and became a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in 1988.
