Meher Pudumjee is chairperson of Thermax, Ltd. She previously held several senior management roles in the company, including vice chair and non-executive director. Soon after joining the company, she took over the responsibility, along with her husband, Pheroz Pudumjee, of managing a Thermax subsidiary company in the UK. She was primarily responsible for the functions of finance, procurement and general administration, apart from playing a role in new product development and planning. The company, which was making a loss at the time, saw a successful turnaround in four years. She joined Thermax as a trainee engineer in August 1990. Ms. Pudumjee is a member of CII Young Indians (Yi) and chairs the National "Employability" Initiative. She was honored with the Women in Business Young Achiever award by the Financial Express in 2006 and was the sole Indian delegate-speaker invited to the Asian Business Women's Conference in Osaka in 2006. The World Economic Forum in 2008 selected her as a Young Global Leader. She is a postgraduate in chemical engineering at the Imperial College of Science & Technology, London. Meher has a keen interest in music, especially western classical, and is a member of a Pune based choir. She is also a proud mother of a 14 year old boy and a 10 year old girl. She is a Fellow of the second class of the Kamalnayan Bajaj Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
