Bio:
Amit is a Senior Partner at Bain & Company. He has been at Bain for last 10 years, having started his career at Bain's Boston office in 2002. He was elected a Partner of the Firm in 2009. He moved to India in 2005 to help start Bain's India office as the official first employee. While at Bain, Amit has worked across a range of industries advising private and public firms as well as the Govt. of India. He leads Bain India's Energy & power and Airlines verticals. He also heads Bain's Performance Improvement practice area and has led several projects to turn around company's operations. He has written several articles in national print media on mining, power sector reforms and has been extensively quoted in recent times. He is also a member of CII national committee on power sector. Prior to Bain, Amit worked at iGATE Patni where he supported implementation of financial software for clients in Singapore and USA. He started his career with Tata Motors in Jamshedpur as gradate engineer trainee in 1994. Amit holds dual MBA (Finance and Strategy) from The Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania, where he was also awarded Palmer and Siebel scholarships. He also holds Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology, India. He resides in Gurgaon with his wife, Pooja and their 2 daughters- Tanya and Kavya. He is an avid sportsman with huge interest in soccer, cricket and now increasingly golf!
