A V Somani is an entrepreneur and over the last 25 years he has stewarded and built various companies in diverse manufacturing and service sectors like building products, pre-engineered metal buildings (Everest Industries), real estate (White Knight Constructions), digital (compareindia.com), retail distribution (Pepsi), travel (Everest Travels) and textiles (Volant). He invests in small and mid sized companies to actively enable growth and scale.
He is is an independent Board member (Bajaj Consumer Care) and advisor in various organizations.
He is an alumn of University of Pittsburgh (MBA), SPJain Institute (PGDBM), Sydenham College (MCom and BCom). He is fascinated by various programs on Lean Manufacturing, Fast Construction and Singularity University, concepts that he has attempted to distill in his organisations.
A V is deeply involved in several social causes close to his heart. Currently, in education (Mahesh Shikshan Sansthan Jodhpur and Global Advisory Board of the Chancellor of University of Pittsburgh, USA), philanthropy (Centre for Advancement of Philanthropy), culture (Inner Courtyard, Sangit Kala Kendra), urban conservation (Asiatic Society of Mumbai) and governance (Praja Foundation). In the past, with organisations in public health and skill building.
As a member of Young Presidents Organisation Bombay, Rotary Club of Bombay and a Fellow of Aspen Global Leadership Network, he has a strong network in India and overseas.
