Bio:
Shankar currently plays a dynamic role as joint correspondent of Kumaraguru College of Technology. With international exposure in education, he looks forward to bringing a modern outlook to the institution by visioning various strategic processes. He mainly focuses to bring about a student centric approach in the institution and a real-time industry exposure into the teaching-learning process. He also serves as the executive director of Sakthi Auto Motors Ltd, a part of 1.0 Billion USD Sakthi Groups of companies, based out of Coimbatore and he also holds various roles in the group companies. He is passionate about the heritage of the land and works for the cause of preservation through INTACH. He founded The Vanavarayar Foundation to work in the areas of history, architecture, culture and heritage. His vision to create a dynamic entrepreneurial hub in Coimbatore led to the inception of Coimbatore Innovation and Business Incubator, CIBI, which will serve as a platform to translate the business ideas into enterprises backed by an ecosystem of mentors, investors and business leaders. He is also the managing director of CIBI. He is the former national chairman of CII Young Indians. For the past 8 years, he has been playing various roles from chapter to national positions of strategy, communication and events. He is passionate about the role of Young Indians in making the India of tomorrow. He is a member of CII Southern Regional Council and co-chair of CII Higher Education committee. He holds a bachelor's degree in Commerce from PSG Arts and Science College Coimbatore, a MBA from the Cardiff University UK and a PG Diploma in International Education Management from the University of Leeds UK. Shankar is a Fellow of the fifth class of the Kamalnayan Bajaj Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
