Lesego Sennelo is President of the African Women Chartered Accountants Forum (AWCA) and the Managing Director of AWCA Investment Holdings. She recently led a program in conjunction with Duke Corporate Education on "Women Leading Africa," which focused on developing young women and preparing them for governance roles in corporate boards. As a consultant, she worked on projects in the Group CFO’s office at Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA), and before that was chief operating officer and Audit Partner for Modipane and Associates, the division she formed and spearheaded. Before joining Modipane and Associates, Lesego served as the head of credit risk at Nedbank and as a financial manager at First National Bank. Between January 2000 and September 2004, Lesego worked for Deloitte & Touche Chartered Accountants in several different capacities, including roles as the foundation manager, audit manager, and audit senior and trainee accountant. The transformation of the chartered accounting is her passion: in addition to her work with AWCA, she serves on a number of initiatives run by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants that advocate for the transformation of the accounting profession. Lesego is a Fellow of the tenth class of the Africa Leadership Initiative – South Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
